This gorgeous garnet stone was on my studio bench for a while. I was waiting for it to give me an idea as to what to make with it. The gem cut is very unusual and it highlights the warming colour of the deep, deep red. I decided to let the stone do the talking and set it in yellow gold with a brushed satin finish. It hangs from an 18″ gold rope chain.
It’s one of my favourite pieces from this year. What do you think?
